AnyCount produces automatic word counts, character counts, line counts, and page counts for all common file formats. Supports .BMP, .CHM, .CSV, .DOC, .DOCX, .GIF, .HLP, .HTM, .HTML, .JPG, .MIF, .ODP, .ODS, .ODT, .PDF, .PNG, .PPS, .PPT, .PPTX, .PUB, .RAR, .RTF, .SDC, .SDD, .SDW, .SLP, .SXC, .SXI, .SXW, .TXT, .VSD, .WPD, .XLS, .XLSX, .XML, .ZIP formats, characters with spaces, characters without spaces.

The Files window is the first window, which you see immediately after running AnyCount:

You can add files with supported extensions (.BMP, .CHM, .CSV, .DOC, .DOCX, .GIF, .HLP, .HTM, .HTML, .JPG, .MIF, .ODP, .ODS, .ODT, .PDF, .PNG, .PPS, .PPT, .PPTX, .PUB, .RAR, .RTF, .SDC, .SDD, .SDW, .SLP, .SXC, .SXI, .SXW, .TXT, .VSD, .WPD, .XLS, .XLSX, .XML, .ZIP) by clicking the Add button. AnyCount automatically sorts them into pages with icons according to their file type.

If you would like to remove a file from the list, select it and click the Remove button.
Clicking the Clear button completely empties the list of files to be counted.

After you have finished selecting the files to be counted, you can either click the Settings button first to view/adjust the counting settings, or click the Count! button immediately, if you are happy with the counting settings you have set before.

When you are in the Settings window, you can adjust count settings for each of the types of files you have selected on the Files screen:

From Settings screen you can either click Count! button and start the processing of selected files by the AnyCount Engine or return to the file selection screen by clicking on the Files button:

After you click the Count! button the AnyCount engine runs and produces word counts, line counts, page or character counts for the documents you have selected:

After the word count is completed, results are displayed in the table:

After the word count is completed, you can:
· view count results on the screen;
· print the count results;
· export the count results into .TXT format;
· export the count results into .CSV format (which can be opened by Microsoft® Excel and most other spreadsheet software.

Also, you can display the word count result in different count units by clicking Units button...

.... and selecting the necessary count units.

All count units in AnyCount are derived from 3 basic atomic values:
· words
· characters with spaces
· characters without spaces.
You can edit existing count units (for instance, change the number of characters in a line or in a page) or create your own count units.
